If you need to ask any questions as a new member you will need to post them in the new members help section and then in no time at all your post count will rise to a level where you will be able to post freely across the whole forum.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the unofficial galaxy.

I think you will find there is little difference in cost between a clutch and a remanufactured pump. You need to work out why the clutch failed, if it was just the field coils then a new clutch would be a solution. Clutches often fail due to the pump seizing which burns out the clutch.

You would also need a range of spaces to get the correct air gap in the clutch.

If it helps the clutch on my 2000 TDi MK2 was missing when I had my system re gassed. The air con engineer had a second hand one from a TDi Golf which was an exact fit and now works fine.
